Country Classroom School is currently looking for applicants for the following position.

 

PK- 2nd Grade Supporting Teacher  

This is a full time non-exempt position.

The responsibilities of the Supporting Teacher include:

  • Assist with PK-2nd grade instruction, Monday - Friday, 8:15 am - 3:15 pm.

  • Help students make friends, play together and learn strategies to constructively resolve interpersonal conflict.

  • Use non-punitive techniques to shape students’ behavior.

  • Plan a minimum of 2 field trips or special guests - may be virtual.

  • Introduce literacy, phonics and numbers in age-appropriate ways.

  • Supervise children during recess, lunch and transitions.

  • Communicate effectively with parents about the needs and growth of their children, as needed.

  • Participate in monthly staff meetings, bi-weekly teacher meetings, parent-teacher and student-led conferences. 

  • Complete behavioral reflections/physical incident reports as needed.

  • Help manage school supplies and a clean, tidy classroom space. 

  • Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher and other staff, as needed.

  • Participate in professional development and goal setting.

  • Attend school functions, as possible. 

  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.

 

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood teaching certification preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or 5 years or more experience working in Early Childhood Education.

 

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience 

  • Professional environment of experienced and dedicated teachers.

Schedule:

  • September (Tuesday after Labor Day) - June

  • Average of 36 hours per week.
